Airflowmeter throttle bodies airflow sensors new with 3 years warranty

Welcome to our Airflow meter web site we can supply new airflow meter and airflow sensor for most makes and models of automobiles, all at low prices. Please click the Manufacturer of you choice on the left hand side of this page this will take you to the on line catalogue or click here for a quick look at all the meters we have in stock.

We have a ful range of Bosch Airflow meters, Delphi aiflow meters, Pierburg airflow sensors, and Siemens Airflow meters.

In most case we give a choice of our own Aftermarket sensors or the original O.E unit as fitted when new.

Air Flow Sensors measure the amount of air passing into the engine from which the computer can work out how much fuel to add to get the perfect mixture for that specific throttle opening, the computer does this by referring to a map in its memory.
The Air Flow Meter works by seeing how much current it takes to keep a wire at a specific temperature. The fault will often not be shown on diagnostic system as the meter will still be operating within the limits the computer believes are OK, but putting the correct amount of fuel in for idle when the throttle is fully open will result in a very weak mixture and thus a lack of power.

The air flow meters will occasionally fail completely which will bring up a light on the dash and the symptoms described here are only the usual ones, as we have known the fault to become apparent in other ways.
The easiest way to check if the Air flow meter is faulty is to unplug the wiring loom start the car if the car runs ok then the fault is with the airflow meter.
Luckily Airflow meters are very easy to fit and normally only take 5 minutes to fit you do not need any special tools to fit them and with a very small purchase price they are no major problem when there go wrong.

The voltage output from the Air Flow Meter (AFM) should be linear to airflow and this can be measured on an oscilloscope.

The waveform should show approximately 1.0 Volt when the engine is at idle, this voltage will rise as the engine is accelerated and air volume is increased producing an initial peak. This peak is due to the initial influx of air and drops momentarily before the voltage is seen to rise again to another peak of approximately 4.0 to 4.5 Volts. This voltage will however depend on how hard the engine is accelerated, a lower voltage is not necessarily a fault within the AFM.

On deceleration the voltage will drop sharply as the throttle butterfly closes, reducing the airflow, and the engine returns back to idle. The final voltage will drop gradually on an engine fitted with idle speed control valve as this will slowly return the engine back to base idle as an anti-stall characteristic. This function normally only affects the engine speed from around 1200 rpm back to the idle setting.

A time base of approximately 2 seconds plus is used, this enables the operator to view the AFM's output voltage on one screen, from idle, through acceleration and back to idle again. The 'hash' on the waveform is due to the vacuum change from the induction pulses as the engine is running.

To enable air mass sensors to measure with the required precision, the measuring sensors themselves must be extremely thin.
This makes them sensitive to mechanical damage. For this reason, air mass sensors should never be cleaned using compressed air. The hot-film sensor may be destroyed.
We also strongly advice against using the cleaning sprays which are increasingly available on the market: If an air mass sensor is already defective, no improvement will be achieved by cleaning it. And if fully functional air mass sensors are treated in this way, the cleaning spray may damage the interior of the air mass sensor as well as the electronics in the component. To ensure reliable functions, we recommend installing a new air mass sensor.
